HOLIDAY INFO

Tour: Santa Teresa, Costa Rica
Duration: 10 Days (Please let us know your trip length requirements!)
Dates: January 24th - February 2 2013
Cost: £689
Ability: All abilities welcome, from new bodyboarders to shredder

Our Aim:
We want to introduce you to the beautiful country of Costa Rica. Our destination, Santa Teresa was a well-kept secret for many years, due to the difficulty of travelling to the area. The consistent beach breaks and point breaks in the area offer a fun park for bodyboarders of all abilities. From beginners to the experienced, Playa Carmen and Santa Teresa has waves for everyone. For the quality of the waves, the crowds are absolutely minimal, the way of life is mellow and the environment is truly breathtaking. Voted by Forbes magazine to be some of the most spectacular in the world, Santa Teresa’s beaches are known throughout Costa Rica as the best of the best. We’d like to share this find as the most consistent beachbreak that we’ve discovered with offshore winds that you can set your watch by. Costa Rica’s catch phrase is ‘Pura-Vida’ which when translated means ‘Pure-Life’. There’s no better way to describe the place.

The best time to escape!
In the depth of the UK winter there is no other place that you would want to be. For the months of January and February it is the best climate that we have found during that time of the year. Strictly shorts or bikini’s in the bath like water, beautiful restaurants on the beach and sunsets to die for.

Climate
We will be visiting during the dry season months. The climate in this region is among the driest in the country. The weather in Playa Santa Teresa is very predictable, constant sun! There are consistently high temperatures and very little rain. You are almost assured perfect weather.

Accommodation
Just 150 metres from the warm waters and white sand beaches of the Pacific Ocean, your accommodation is a unique, Asian-inspired guest house, apartments and restaurant. The large main apartment has rooms coming off it so that there is plenty of private space and communal areas. There are self catering facilities available. There’s also a yoga area on the second floor, a spa in the gardens with massages available and a restaurant with a varied and well priced menu. There is also a supermarket 100 metres from the apartment.

Flights
The trip includes arrival and departure meetings to/from San Jose. You will need to book your own flights from the UK, however we can advise you on flights that others are taking, the latest deals that we have discovered, and recommended booking agents.
Your flights should ensure that you are in San Jose, Costa Rica on January 24th and flying out at the earliest on the evening of 1st February, 2013.
Please check your baggage, size, number and weight allowance with your airline . Remember to check your airlines’ procedure for carrying bodyboards and book yours in advance if you need to.

On the day that you travel please keep your mobile phone on (except when flying of course) so that we can stay in touch in case of delays, flight changes etc. If you could drop me a text (07974729639) from  the airport to say that you are on time/delayed/early, that would be a great help.

Food - Click to learn more

You will notice that the food in Santa Teresa tastes amazing regardless of the price (£5 for a good meal), since many surf-loving chefs have moved here from around the world, and have created their own restaurants to support their beach lifestyle. As well as the great menu at the restaurant within our accommodation there is a fantastic range of fish restaurants, beach bar b q’s, Argentinean steak restaurants and a fantastic vegetarian option.
